weatherford rodeo

tonight grayson and i went with jill, roy, and my mom to the weatherford rodeo. we met up with our cousins; chris, laura, colton, emma, and graden. we had so much fun watching the emma and graden do the calf scramble. graden was even brave enough to ride a sheep in muttin' bustin'! grayson stayed awake the whole time. i think he really liked it.

father's day

today was alan's first father's day! grayson got him a multi-tool pocket knife that said, "happy first father's day love, grayson."

after alan and grayson took a well deserved nap, we headed to texas de brazil to have dinner with family. we love that place and wanted to share it with larry and evelyn since they have never been there. we tried new foods including grilled provolone, olives, beets, and all kinds of crazy food. we had a good time visiting and hanging out.

beaumont ranch & the brad stinson band

grayson, alan and i met larry and evelyn at beaumont ranch. we got to enjoy the brad stinson band (brad is an old friend) and revisit the place where we were married. we also bought grayson his first cowboy hat!

a day at the lake

alan and i took off work and took the boat out for a relaxing day of fishing and swimming on lake benbrook. we dropped grayson off at evelyn's house and headed to the lake. we didn't anticipate that the wind would be blowing 30mph! we found a little cove to shelter us from the wind that was full of wildlife. we got to see snakes swimming side by side, turtles, and schools of minnows. we tried to catch the minnows but we could not catch them! we need more practice casting the net. alan caught two small bass and i didn't catch anything. it could have been due to the fact that i was trying to read a book at the same time. we really enjoyed a day away from everything!

alan and i took grayson swimming at my parents house. it was his first time to swim! he loved the water but hated the sun in his eyes.

mother's day

today was my first mother's day! it was so busy but fun because i got to hang out with family. first we celebrated with alan's mom at shanille's house. she had us over for lunch. then we went to my parents house to celebrate with my grandma and mom.

baby showers

my friends and family are amazing!

jennifer, brandi, and coby threw a baby shower for grayson. they did such an awesome job. we played a game where i had to identify the baby pictures of all the guests - i got all of them right! i also enjoyed my little helper - kaitlyn helping me with my gifts. my favorite part was when they surprised me with a video of jennifer interviewing alan about being a father. it brought tears to my eyes! it was so neat to see his view about the baby, the pregnancy and me being a mom. i love him so much - he is going to be great dad. i really appreciate my friends doing that for us.

jill, michelle barkley, and shanille threw another baby shower for grayson. we had so much fun stealing necklaces and melting ice! they really put a lot of work into it and we got everything we needed for grayson's arrival. it was fun to hang out with family and friends that we don't see very often.
