Absence

So a lot has happened since Easter! Sorry for the long delay in postings! Life overwhelmed me for a little while but now I am back on track : ) WITH  a new and fabulous camera to take gorgeous pictures with (thanks Alan) AND  a semester's worth of photography and photoshop knowledge to take advantage of!

I am working backwards so upcoming posts to watch for are: Mainstay Farm in October, Fishing with Daddy in October, Wyoming Part 2,  Favorites from my photography class in December and whatever else I can find!

Gingerbread House

I wasn't too sure how this would go but Grayson LOVED it. Alan and I had a great time too! We even made it through the entire thing without Grayson realizing he was playing with massive amounts of sugar!

Santa (take 2)

So we have been telling Grayson all about Santa and he was excited to go and see him again.  Grayson even smiled and waved at him when we got there. Sitting in his lap was a different story...

*he already saw him once this year when he was with my parents and cousins at Bass Pro Shop. I will try
and scan the picture later.

Jennifer Turns 28 and it's Christmas?!

We celebrated my birthday (28) with my parents and sister and brother-in-law and then we had an early Christmas. Christmas squeezed in on a work night just wasn't the same but we made the most of it. It was mostly spent helping Grayson open presents and watching the guys crash fly rc helicopters : )

Alan turns 29!

We celebrated Alan's birthday twice! Once with the Jones's, Aaron's, and Hester's, and once with the Knights. I forgot to take pictures of the first but at least I got some of the second celebration : )

Hunting Trip to Wyoming (Part 1)

Where do I begin?? We (my parents, Alan, Grayson and I in 2 trucks) headed northwest through Amarillo and New Mexico. We got stranded in Colorado Springs by a snow storm but finally got through the snow to the Red Canyon Ranch in Kaycee, Wyoming where the weather was gorgeous. Thank you Mama and Daddy for taking us with you this year and thanks to the Hanson's for their hospitality! I took A LOT of pictures!
DAY 1
Amarillo

Cadillac Ranch  in Amarillo
(we didn't know to bring our own spray paint)

somewhere between Amarillo and New Mexico:

DAY 2
Colorado Springs, Colorado
biggest snowstorm in October

Tried to leave Colorado Springs in this mess and turned back around because of road closings in Wyoming. We saw multiple wrecks and spin outs all around us. Very scary!! So thankful we waited out the storm for 2 days because we made it safely!

DAY 3, 4, & 5
Colorado

Garden of the Gods

Manitou Springs

Burning some energy off around the La Quinta...

Day 6:
Kaycee, Wyoming

Hunting for mule deer on the last day of the season with the guide, Leif Hanson.

They are standing on a cliff "glassing" for mule deer.

CAN YOU SPOT THE DEER?

The only photo of Grayson in his costume on Halloween! There wasn't a place to go trick or treating so he ate dinner in his costume and during dinner had a diaper malfunction so that was the end of Halloween!
